He was born in 1968 in the mountain village of Al in eastern Norway, the region where his autobiographical prose Fiskehuset (The Fisherman's Hut, 2021; in Czech 2023) takes place. The successful singer-songwriter and musician made his literary debut with the highly acclaimed poetry collection Jordsjukantologien. The novella Fiskehuset is his first work in prose. The book won the 2021 Nynorsk Literature Award and is is set to be published in several countries.
